RV College of Architecture is one of the premier institutes in India offering Bachelor, Master’s and Doctoral Program in Architecture. All the programs at RVCA are affiliated to VTU Belagavi and approved by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi.
The college has its inception as the Department of Architecture at RV College of Engineering in academic year 1992-1993. Subsequently it was upgraded to the status of the School of Architecture under autonomous RV College of Engineering. Owing to its commitment to academic rigor and earnestness to the cause of architecture education, the School steadily made its mark on the world map of the architecture education. In 2015, the school was moved to the new campus in Banashankari, 6th stage as standalone RV College of Architecture.

The RV College of Architecture is among very few campuses in India that have been designed exclusively to house an architecture college. The campus offers the state of the arts infrastructural facilities which include well equipped studios and lecture halls. Our library offers an extensive range of reference books, journals and periodicals. The computer lab of the college is equipped with the latest versions of the architectural software. The visual design and architectural workshops, climatology lab, Building Structures & materials lab, Materials Museum contribute to experiential learning of architecture at all stages of the program.

RVCA takes pride in its distinguished team of faculty comprising of highly qualified full time teachers and a strong team of practicing architects as visiting/adjunct faculty. Robust teams of carefully selected faculty hail from some of the best universities in the world. They possess excellent technical skills that are required to hone the future leaders for the architectural world. To nurture core ethos and instill the fundamentals of architecture among the students, RVCA provides valuable inputs in design, construction and building services etc. by bringing in practical dimension to learning by organizing seminars, talks, workshops and interactive sessions with renowned architects and consultant on a regular basis.

RVCA recognizes the significance of industrial and professional connect with the design studios. There cannot be a meaningful mentoring of the budding architects without the direct and intense engagement with the people in profession. Hence the unique aspect of studio teaching at RVCA is the deep involvement of several eminent architects who bring along with them loads of practical and professional knowledge and experience.

Consequent to our approach to educate the budding architects, students of RVCA have been proving their capabilities on national and international platforms by bringing many accolades to their Alma matter. RVCA has been a consistent winner of “Excellence is Architectural Thesis Award” sponsored by the Council of Architecture, Asia Young Designer Awards sponsored by the Nippon paints, Architecture Rookies Awards and ARCHIPRIX International Design Competition Award, to name a few.

The graduates of RVCA are highly valued for their creative abilities; hence most of them succeed in getting placements in the leading architectural firms. Some of the well-known architectural firm employing RVCA graduates include; Sangath, Ahmedabad, CnT Architects.Mind Space, Rahul Melhotra Architects, Venkat Raman and Associates, RSP Design Consultants, DP Consultants Jana Graha.

The tradition of RV graduates proceeding for higher studies abroad is now well established. AA London, Delft University of Technology, University of Michigan, University of Illinois, Harvard University, School of Design, Harvard University, UCL, The Bartlett, UCL are some of the renowned universities where our students have pursued masters in past.

RVCA is in academic agreements with Haute ‘ecole d’ ingenierie et d’ architecture, Fribourg, Switzerland, Department of Architecture Wood and Civil Engineering, Bern University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland and Katholieke University, Leuven, Belgium. Under the agreement RVCA students can avail benefits of their academic initiatives.
